Happy Spring~

Spring is finally here!

However, it seems as if SoCal weather decided to jump right to Summer. The transition between sweater weather to crop top weather was rather abrupt this year, but I'm not complaining! It felt absolutely amazing to destress at the beach, exposing myself to some sunlight and vitamin D I've been missing out on due to finals hell.

캘리포니아에는 어김없이 봄이 일찍 찾아왔어요.

봄이라고 하기엔 너무 더운 날씨 ㅠㅠ 

이번주 최고 온도가 33도였나...? 

진짜 매년 여름이 당겨져서 오는 것 같아요!

반갑기만 하네요.

Sidenote:

I've been an avid iPhone photographer for as long as I can remember, but couple weeks ago, my parents surprised me with my first DSLR, Canon 100D! I've been saving up for it for almost 8 whole months, but I mean, what can I say... They spoil me :> 

I'm still in the process of reading up on manuals and researching the complexities of this beautiful machine, so please let me know if you have experience with DSLRs (so I can load you with questions lol). Just kidding, but seriously, I can really use some advice right now and I'd love to just chat with you about it!

얼마전에 아빠 엄마가 제 생에 첫 SLR 카메라를 선물 해 주셨어요.

제가 어릴때부터 제 성장을 사진으로 남기는걸 좋아하셨던 엄빠!

제 인생에 가장 아름다울 20대의 시간을 잘 기록했으면 하는 마음으로 

다 큰 딸에게 이렇게 큰 선물을 해 주셨어요 ㅠㅠ

아빠가 이때까지 찍어 준 사진만큼 좋은 사진들은 아직 못 찍지만,

앞으로 잘 쓸께!

Simple Things - OOTD

Hello everyone,

First blog post of 2015! I can't believe January is already coming to an end.

New Year's Eve feels like yesterday.

This year, one of my long term goals is to enjoy the little things in life. 

Not to glance over the simple things, not to take even the smallest things for granted. 

It's a reasonable new year's resolution, but I know it will make me a much more grateful and happy person.

Ugly Christmas Jean Flannel?! - OOTD

Happy Winter Break, Happy almost-Holidays : >

Going thrifting to snatch the perfect ugly Christmas sweater to wear to various gatherings throughout the holiday season has been an annual tradition for me, but this year, I got this oversized granny jean flannel that has borderline tacky Christmas decorations instead!

Thrift Store이라고 불리는 미국 구제옷 가게에서 정말 저렴하게 주고 산 촌스러운 크리스마스 청남방!ㅎㅎㅎ

왠지 이 옷의 전 주인은 귀욤귀욤한 백인 할머니였을 거 같지 않나요?!ㅋㅋㅋ

제가 이 오버사이즈 셔츠를 어떻게 스타일링 했는지 궁금하시다면 계속 스크롤 스크롤~

I tucked in the bottom left half of the shirt in order to prevent it from swallowing me hehe

셔츠 자체가 너무너무 커서 제 몸 자체를 완전히 삼키더라구요ㅋㅋㅋ

(절대로 키가 쪼꼬매서 그런건 아니야 흠흠)

그래서 한쪽 끝만 슉슉 바지안으로 집어넣었어요!

That way, I was able to show off how boxy and long the shirt was, while still maintaining my figure!

As my friend @_sharonchoi would say, "THIS IS BEAUTIFUL." Thank you for the recommendation sharongsharong; I love it. Girls, you need this palette in your life. I've never been too into blushes; in fact, this is my first time trying blushes, but wow, I've been missing out! This cute Christmas set comes with five samples of Benefit's signature blushes: dandelion, bellabamba, sugarbomb, coralista, and rockateur. Not only that, it also comes with a sample of the watt's up highlighter and the hoola bronzer. Some of you may already know, but one Benefit blush/bronzer costs 28 dollars. This palette, my loves, was only 36 dollars! Like what? Although the shades may come in sample sizes, I already know it's going to take me forever to hit pan on all of these blushes. So, so happy~

Ever since I've purchased this palette, I have been using nothing else. The Lorac PRO palette contains the perfect set of neutral shades that will complement every eye color and skin tone. Unlike most eye shadows, the shimmer shades of this palette go on super smoothly with minimal fall outs. All throughout this Autumn, my everyday eye make-up look was created with the warmer shades of this palette (specifically, taupe, sable, espresso, and garnet). 

로락 프로 아이쉐도우 팔레트! 너무 너무 좋아요! 네이케드가 7/10 이라면 로락 프로는 9/10? 정말 이 팔레트를 사고 거의 하루도 안빠지고 쓴거같아요. 뉴트럴한 쉐도우 색감들 덕분에 에브리데이로 만만하게 쓰기 쉬운 로락 프로! 추천해요~!

I would consider my skin type as combination-dry, but lately, it's just been plain dry (probably due to the temperature change!). I have been getting dry patches everywhere, and I knew I had to restore the moisture back into my face somehow. I'm a fan of Kiehl because their products are usually unscented and have clean & functional packaging. This facial cream does exactly what it claims to do: "leaves skin comfortable and visibly well-balanced." If you are currently struggling with dry and irritated skin, I highly recommend that you give this moisturizer a try! I apply a generous amount to my face after toning my skin in the morning and at night. My skin has never felt more soft and hydrated : >

NARS - RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER

I think this concealer just might be one of the best concealers out there. It is light, but has great coverage. Because of its creamy consistency, you can apply it under the eyes and not worry about it creasing or looking cakey. Plus, the shade that I have (Medium 1: Custard) matches the color of my skin tone perfectly. So on my lazy days, I would just dot this concealer on my imperfections/dark circles and be out the door, without having to worry about looking spotty!

나스 래디언트 크리미 컨실러 (미디움 1 - 커스터드). 

커버리지는 미디움에서 풀? 하지만 전혀 무겁지 않아요! 나스 스탠딩 스토어는 아직 한국에 안들어왔다고 들었지만, 백화점에는 있겠죠...? 그리고 한국인들은 닥치고 그냥 미디움 1 커스터드 밖에 못 쓰실거에요...ㅎㅎㅎ 위 아래 색깔들이 너무 한국인 피부에 안맞기 때문이죠!! 하하! 매일 매일 파운데이션 바르기 귀찮은 분들께 추천합니다!

NEST - DAHLIA & VINES (LEFT), MIDNIGHT FLUER (MIDDLE), INDIGO (RIGHT)

Unfortunately, I could not find a link to this perfume set :( I got it at the Sephora's "Black Friday $10 Specials" section, so I'm not sure if they still sell this set... 

I think Dahlia & Vines has the coolest and cleanest scent out of the three. Indigo has a very sweet and youthful scent. Midnight Fleur smells the most mature and feminine. My roomie, @byefelilah, says that Midnight Fleur smells like a "fresh batch of cinnamon apple pie," so that's that HAHA. Can't get any more detailed than that ; >

블랙 프라이데이 세일날 세포라에서 10불주고 산 네스트 롤러볼 세트! 하나같이 다 너무 좋다. 개인적으로 프로럴보단 프루티한 향을 좋아하는 편이지만, 이 세트는 뭔가 취향 저격 탕탕ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 플로럴향을 좋아하는 사람들에겐 당연히 추천 추천! 프루티향을 좋아하는 사람들에게도 도전해보라고 추천 추천!

OOTD: Today, I chose to wear a lavender lace top with all black. I've always thought that it would be strange to wear pastel colors with black (or dark colors in general), but today, I came to the conclusion that  black  really does go with everything. Although an all-black outfit can potentially make you look like you're going to a funeral, the soft lavender adds a subtle hint of color, which adds loveliness and subtracts witchy vibes.

AND, I finally found the perfect pair from zara.com :')

I'm still in the process of breaking them in, but hopefully they'll be super comfortable and customized to my feet by the end of this season hehe

October Fashion Favorites

Hey loves!

It is officially November! Did everyone have a fun Halloween?

I just took a fat nap after my last class and went out to dinner with one of my good friends.

Fun stuff right?! 

Enough about my crazy weekend.

It's finally starting to feel like Autumn in San Diego.

I mean, today, I was able to wear a knit cardigan all day and not have a heat stroke.

샌디에고에도 가을이 찾아온듯해요! 

이제 얇은 가디건이라도 안 걸치고 나가면 좀 쌀쌀하네요ㅠㅠ

그래도 캘리포니아에선 여름이 워낙 길고,

전 또 한국 (대구)에서 혹독한 여름을 보내고 온 터라...

This necklace was an impulse purchase, but I mean, those are the best kind of purchases...right?

This gold tribal(-ish) layered necklace is a perfect statement piece that you can wear over any plain, simple top. I definitely overwore it this past month, but I could care less. I think it adds the perfect amount of fanciness even to the most casual outfits. Love, love, love!

I think this creme beige granny cardigan is my favorite thrift store purchase of all time (and that's saying something because I have a lot of good thrift store finds). It's super cozy and soft, yet the fit is still flattering.

I wore this white lace crop top constantly this month because I knew that I wouldn't be able to wear it in the months to come. Time to say goodbye to this baby until summer, but who knows.

I got this vintage denim jacket from the Urban Outfitters online sale earlier this month.  I love the masculine fit and the washed-out denim color.
